J for Elephant : Student Showcase
No we didn't flunk grade school. What we're talking about is this rebranding exercise someone carried out for Jijamata Udyan, the Byculla Zoo, using the letter 'J' to create the form of the elephants.

Meet this someone,
Ameya Narvankar. Artist. Designer. 'Zoo-logo-ist'.

Project Featuring: the complete rebranding of the Byculla Zoo.

Why?
Jijamata Uddyan, is the city's oldest, and has laid
in decadence for the past decade. With the BMC finally planning a renovation, Ameya thought it could use a brand re-vamp too.

Inspiration:
Jijamata Udyaan does not have any specific animal as its star attraction. But there is a large stone elephant at the entrance of the garden. That, and the lush green gardens and foliage inspired his green palette as he designed the symbol.

He strayed away form-heavy symbol and limited colours to make the symbol more harmonious, and memorable.
